That is not what I asked for, I went to my late model Macbook Pro with Catalina, went to the Store, downloaded what I thought was a download and it started to run over the top of Catalina and I cant find the .dmg anywere. I dont use time machine, i keep my files on external drive but customising the OS takes a long long time. I wasted hours and 5.4 gig data doing what you said "for nothing". I dont trust third party but I guess if I get a bad copy, ill just do it over again.

I like to do clean installs as well, not just Disk Tools in the middle of an install or untidy upgrades. I am here because I got bored with windows computers, I have a box full of those as well. This was a Covid 19 "3 Month Lockdown Project" to amuse myself. As a Windows Insider, i also get free Windows 10 Operating systems to test. Every Laptop PC came with an OS!

Any others ideas? I performance manage Operating Systems and Hardware combinations, not built myself but companies products.

Just give me a link, where I can download High Sierra! Windows back in the day gave me a developers patch to use with my hobby, so I could download any OS and not register it but no time limit to expire and make OS unusable. I am retired NOT a business, it is all personal and help the poor pro bono

The link given earlier is a link to download High Sierra.

Open Safari, Firefox will not work.

Go to Section 4 and click on Get macOS High Sierra.

This will redirect you to the App Store High Sierra download page.

It downloads Install macOS High Sierra.app to your Applications folder, should be 5.23GBs in size.

If your mac came preinstalled with a newer OS like Mojave or Catalina you will not be able to install it.

Yes, I went there and all it was is "Updates"

started with Catalina and a few High Sierra then next page was pages and pages

of Catalina and High Sierra Updates and Mojave etc. The updates were 1.5 gig to

2+ gig so initially I thought I found the right place until I started

downloading? I am looking for the 5 gigs plus OS not updates, they won’t work.

I even searched osx, os etc and all I  got was hundreds of Updates not an OS, have

you been there? Check before you recommend?

I was using Chrome on Windows, then I went to Catalina (dual

Boot) I was also using Chrome but when I clicked the link, it opened Safari

automatically and took me to the Store. I thought I was downloading, it was

5.24 gb size, but, the .dmg was not found, invisible, then when I restarted

Catalina it started to install High Sierra "which is not what I

wanted". I wanted the download .dmg for a clean install on another last

model MacBook. When I try to do this on MacBook, I get errors during install

like Packets are missing, you can’t put this on this machine blah blah blah and

many many more. I know it works because I have done it before BUT I only get

200 gigs of Data a month! Apple has been taking up half of that. Do you have a

link anywhere that I don’t have to jump through hoops when I get there sorting

through hundreds of bs updates and other rubbish, just a link to .dmg High Sierra?

It took me hours and hours to get el Capitan (previously

installed) reinstalled because I wanted a clean install on a Bigger Hard Drive

without junk left on the hard drive. So, this is common problem Apple, I

understand why, but I haven’t got days and days to find a proper High Sierra

.dmg, because Apple has an IQ Test to prevent ex windows people doing with

Apple what we do with windows. The disincentive is our perfect machines and not

wanting to end up with a “less than perfect” situation which we created. Apple

hardware, although Intel and common GPU, is far superior to any Windows

Machines Manufacturers. Lots of subtle logic board architecture and engineering

which is hard to put a finger on for the non-engineer, but far superior from

the first MacBook (which I have) and the first MacBook Pro (which I also have)

even my MiniMac and Imac amaze me, because I dual boot with Windows and old

Apple runs Windows better than HP, Dell, Asus, Acer etc etc etc new machines.
