How to save filters in Numbers to resue them?

Apple Numbers has a built in filters. Here are a set of filters that I use all the time:

I apply these filters all the time (and then sort the column titled "COMPETITIVE SCORE" by ascending to descending) .

Is there anyway I can save these filters (and the sorted column), so I can call them up with one click instead of having to select them all the time?

I tried looking at Apple Script but it doesn't seem possible to control the filters via Apple Script.

Thanks!

Hi big_smile,

It is often tricky to filter on values that are "not".

Without some idea of your overall aim, I made up this table.

Table 1 has a Header Row.

Formula in B2 =IFERROR(FIND(B$1,$A2),"0")

Fill right and fill down.

IFERROR inserts 0 if the value in the relevant Header Row is not found.

Formula in E2 =SUM(B2:D2)

Fill down.

Now for the filter:

Press the return key to confirm.

The filter shows only those rows that do not contain < or - or N/A in column A.

Happy Numbering!

Ian.

Do these 'hundreds of documents' have the same structure?

If so, use Ian's example as a model for the 'filterable' version of that document structure, leaving the number of columns needed to contain the 'made daily' document's data columns. Save the document (with no data in thee columns) as a template.

Then for each 'daily document:

Create a new document from the template.

Open the 'daily document' and select all data cells, then Copy.

Switch to the new document created from the template.

Select the top left cell of the cells ready to accept data. Paste.

Apply the filters as needed.

Barry
