Hi. I'm planning to buy the new iPad Pro (2020). I have never owned an Apple product before. Hence my question: Can you use the App Store to download free apps to your iPad without your credit card? I don't have a credit card and I'd like to download free apps from the App Store. And if not, then can I use an Apple Store gift card instead? Thanks.

Why do I need to be asked for a credit card when I just want to download free apps? I don't understand it. Can someone please explain this to me?
