I recently bought a macbook and it tells me to enable my two factor verification. When I want to enable this, the system notifies me that two factor authentication is not available. It also does not work on my Iphone 7 plus. Both apple
systems run on the latest iOS. How can I fix this problem? And why is it not
ailable on my apple devices.

Note that, even though the latest iOS, iPadOS, or macOS devices are mentioned above, sometimes two-factor authentication is not available. "While most iCloud users can now turn on two-factor authentication, certain account types may still be ineligible at Apple’s discretion." Note that it is unclear when or why Apple might exercise it "discretion" in regard to the availability of two-factor authentication.
