Lost texting icon on dock

Question

My texting icon disappeared from the dockiing area. Can anyone help me?

MacBook Air 13″, macOS 10.15

Launch Messages. Then, control-click on the icon for it that will appear in the dock, select Options>Keep in Dock

Go to your Applications Folder, and drag "Messages" back to the Dock. Then "right-click" on the Messages Icon, and select "Keep in Dock."
