icloud storage on Mac

I have a 2 T storage on icloud out of which i am using 155 G.

100 G of which is blocked on my Mac PC storage. The icloud is not freeing storage on my Mac.

My storage on Mac is showing 100 G blocked for icloud on the mac itself

What do i need to do in order to avoid this problem? my Mac is out of storage. I appreciate the support

Cloud is a syncing system, not an external storage system. Go to Photos/Preferences/iCloud and select Optimize. That will reduce the space required by about 90% when fully effective.

For what you want to do, you need a different cloud based solution such as Dropbox, OneDrive, or Flicker.

By the way, when i check the storage after pressing about this Mac, the storage shows icloud 103 G while for all my friends it is never showing icloud. It shows Documents (the same as the window reflected when you press the link Desktop and Documents files to iCloud Drive.

Is that normal that the storage on Mac reflects icloud not documents?

Appreciate the support because my PC is killing me now.
