SIM cards mixed up

My old phone is a 5, my new phone is a SE 2020 2nd generation; I got the SIM cards mixed up; they both seem to work in the new phone and it's activated and working correctly. How to identify which one is the new card? Does it matter which one is in the new phone?

dsTX288,

Thank you for reaching out at Apple Support Communities today. If I understand correctly you mixed around the SIM cards for your old iPhone 5 and new iPhone SE, and now you’re not able to tell which one goes with which iPhone. It sounds like they’re both working in your iPhone SE.

Both iPhone devices use the Nano-SIM card, so they’re interchangeable. As long as the same telephone number is attached to the SIM, it shouldn’t matter. I would reach out to your carrier for help identifying which SIM belongs with which iPhone, and to learn if switching them will impact either device.

Cheers.
