wifi incorrect password

Hello, i have an iPhone 6S Plus. The problem is i cannot connect to every wifi, it always said incorrect password eventhough i put the correct password.

i already did the reset network setting, factory reset, and everything, but still i cannot connect to wifi.

this is the hardware problem or the software problem?

does anybody knows the solutions?

Few Other Thoughts...

  • You would always try resetting the password on your router. Everything else would need to be logged into, though. So, if this is a Home LAN, then this would be OK.

  • Is this an Enterprise Login (User Name and Password)? If so, create a new user, and log into it.

  • See if your device is restricted form your router in some manor (MAC address).

  • Ask a friend if you may log into their network, but only to troubleshoot.

If you can connect to other Wi-Fi networks, but not your home network, the problem is with the router. If you cannot connect to any Wi-Fi network the problem is your phone.

If the problem is with your phone: Settings/General/Reset - Reset network settings.

If that doesn’t fix it back up your phone and restore it to factory settings—>Restore your iPhone, iPad, or iPod to factory settings - Apple Support. If it still doesn’t connect after restoring it to factory settings your phone has a hardware problem. Use the Contact Support link at the top of this page to arrange a repair. Or consider it a good excuse to replace your 5 year old phone.

Using Other Devices:

  • Disconnect a Device: Try the Password

This password you are entering - well, try entering it on another device. See if the password works. You would remove the network, then add it back. But, try this on a device that you typically may not use for it (i.e. a printer).

  • SSID:

The SSID is the name of a network. So, maybe one of these is a hidden network, and you may need to add it manually. Also, make sure you are using the correct protocol (WEP2 or WPA2) - (For Note: WPA2 is much more secure).

  • Password:

Make sure you are using Capital Letters, special characters, and numbers correctly.

You are using a cellular wireless hotspot. The Wi-Fi network name and password are on the back, unless you changed the password. But you can change the password, so using the screen on the other side navigate to Wi-Fi settings and verify the password. While you are doing that also check to see that you haven’t exceeded the number of simultaneously connected devices and that your phone is listed in the “allowed” list in MAC filtering if that feature is turned on. Either of those conditions will result in a bad password message.

But the question that occurs to me is that you are using cellular data to access the Internet through that device. Why don’t you just connect the phone directly to cellular data, and eliminate the “middleman” in the form of that wireless hotspot device?

BTW, the way to reset it is to take the back off and remove the battery.

Another issue: This is a public forum, and you have posted an image with your Wi-Fi password, SSID and IMEI of the device, all of which can be used to hack it. I’ll ask the hosts to remove the image.
