Presumably you both have separate Apple IDs and separate Apple Music subscriptions. One of you will become the family organizer and will need to change the subscription plan. Change your subscription plan - Apple Support
The family plan is about 50% more expensive than the individual one.
The other person can cancel their own subscription, but note you will lose all Apple Music downloads you made during your subscription period by doing this.
