sudo nano/etc/hosts password not working

I am trying to get a website permanently blocked on all browsers on my computer. I have looked up how to do that and I followed all the steps to get into my terminal. Every time I type in my correct password is says, "command not found". What am I doing wrong that it doesn't recognize the command?

MacBook Air 13″, macOS 10.13
