I cannot pair my series 3 Apple Watch with my new 8 se! What is the problem and how can I fix it???

Does anyone else have a new 8se and cannot pair it with their Apple Watch?

I was eventually able to pair my watch and phone. I needed to update my new phone. Thank you for responding.
