i try to download an app and it says to type in my password to view billing information. i’m trying to download a free app which is why it makes no sense. i shouldn’t have to type in billing info in order to download a FREE app.

You are required to have a valid payment method in your Apple ID account to download anything. It serves a couple of purposes, including verify that you are old enough to have an account and that you are in the country of the app store you are using. If you have no subscriptions and never download apps that have in-app purchases you may be able to remove the payment method, but if there is a payment method in your account it must be a valid one, not expired, not blocked, and it must have complete information.

Unfortunately, you'll need to add a credit or debit card in order to use the App Store.
everytime i try to download an app it says i have to review billing information but i’m trying to download a free app. i shouldn’t need to type in credit card info to download a free app
