Do apple agents ask for your billing address?

We are all other users, not Apple, but, I would say from my experience: if you are not covered by a warranty, then it is possible in the US (I encountered that once some years ago).

But, to be sure, you will need to ask Apple. And, you should make sure that you were actually speaking with Apple and not some scammer. What number did you call? If they called you, it's a scammer.
