I can not install this update on an iMac with High Sierra 10.13.6 iMac (27-inch, Mid 2011). Tried two times. it downloads but can not install.

I had serous issues with SecUpdates from the App Store update page over a year ago and since, when I get a notice a SecUpdate is available, I now go to the Apple Downloads site:
Not a hint of trouble since on out three most-used Macs in the home office.
Note: After installing from the download page, the App Store updates pager(10.13 and earlier ) or System Prefs >Software updates, may continue to show the update available for a couple of days but it will go away with no action required on your part.

You can also download and install it directly from Apple Downloads, instead of thru the Mac App Store.

It downloads the update as usual but then when trying to install it stops doing so and says it can not be installed.
Apple at its best I guess, but frankly never had this kind of problem, OSX updates yes but not a security update
Any advice would be much appreciated

I personally had a terrible time installing it, but 7th attempt was golden...

Are you running any VPN, Anti-Virus, or Cleaning apps?
Hi Alan, thanks this did the trick and thanks all for your answers as well. Whatever happened to Apple, because there is always something with updates it seems.
