Are these emails I received genuine?

I received an email from apple to inform me that my iCloud account was signed in on a browser. I just changed my phone so am a bit concerned.

I changed my password and received another notification.

what I would like to know is that were the emails genuine.

Has my security been compromised? How do I find out if everything is ok with my account?

I think your notification probably are legit. Check your Apple ID device list  (https://support.apple.com/en-us/HT205064and remove any device that shouldn't be signed in using the steps in the link.

If there are none that shouldn’t be signed in, then you should not have a problem at this point. But, if an unauthorized device is signed in, Change your Apple ID password https://support.apple.com/en-us/HT201355 I see that you have done this. But,
