The AirPort Utility requires both Bonjour and IPv6 to "locate" and connect to an AirPort base station. Be sure, that at a minimum, you have IPv6 Link-local only mode enabled on both your base stations and your Macs.

For an AirPort base station:

  • AirPort Utility > Select the base station > Edit
  • Internet > Internet Options > Configure IPv6: Link-local only > Save > Update

For a Mac:

  • System Preferences > Network > Wi-Fi or Ethernet > Advanced
  • TCP/IP > Configure IPv6: Link-local only > OK > Apply

For an iOS device:

  • Run the AirPort Utility.
  • Tap on the base station, and then, select tap Edit
  • Tap Advanced > IPv6
  • Configure IPv6: Link-local only
  • Tap Done
