    have the definitive answer!!

First when you try to purchase an app, a box appears asking you to enter your ID, then it asks you to enter your 3 digit (CVC) security code. At that time, don't click on the field but rather press the "done" button on the top right. Then, the field will refresh and ask you to enter the security code again. Then, you can put it in the field and voila.. You should be done.

Same thing happened to me then I rested it and it worked fine, but when I bought some music on my iPod told me to verify my card so I did but it keeps saying invalid security code.its so frustrating!!!!! I don't know what to do.

This is a huge annoyance if you have more than 1 Apple device. Between an iPad, iPhone, Apple TV, Mac Mini, and new RMBP, having this prompt come up repeatedly is pretty crippling to an otherwise smooth iCloud experience.

The solution for me was pretty odd.

I use my middle name almost everywhere on the Internet, including my own contact list entry in Contacts. Since connecting everything together with iCloud (including my login accounts) Apple was seeing my account name as John James Jacoby, though your account can only have a First and Last name listed. Once I removed my middle name from my Contacts entry, the prompts stopped.

This leads me to believe that if something (I.E. anything) is out of sync, the default verification is the CVV2 code on the back of your Credit Card. You verify the card, it knows it's you, and the purchase goes through. The problem comes from us thinking it's the Credit Card that's incorrect, when it could actually be anything at all, and even something that the current applications UI doesn't allow you to change.

It seems like a bug, but an understandable one considering the complexity of Apple connecting everything together over the past few years. If you're still experiencing this issue, try making sure that all of your connected Apple account information matches between your iTunes account and your Contacts entry. Name, address, email address, everything.

For those of you that use multiple Apple ID's between devices, this gets exponentially complicated, and more likely to be part of the issue.

Yup.  Me too.  I spend several hours and email on the phone with apple earlier last year on this with my 3gs, but got nowhere.  They started tellling me it must be my windows laptop.  When I got the 4s, the problem went away...or so I thought.  It's back.  And I agree that it seems related to purchasing items on different devices.  Too bad Apple can't own up to the problem and either admit its happening and they're working on it, or saying that it on purpose to prevent hacking.  But the fact that the message states that your itunes account has been accessed from a new computer or device belies the latter.  Boo on Apple.

Problem is with bank's security. I've same problem with it. iTunes requires to Enter CVV code once. And it's stored in your data. But some banks requires from AppStore to send CVV code everytime transaction goes on. But it does not responding as i said earlier. Sad but true, either your bank changes his security policy or you change the bank. I was fighting with my bank in Poland in which i'm working( so I know what I'm talking about)- but they told me that this is their policy and nothing can be done. Why free apps also being asked? Because you need a valid credit or debit card for any AppStore download- and if your bank is a lame one, as mine- you'll be asked for CVV each time. Hope it helps. Ahh-infotip- Doesn't heard that MASTERCARD has that problem. Only visa.

There may be an issue with CVV and/or payment information, but this started happening to me outside of making any changes to payment info. Only after changing my name did anything go out of sync.

This alone was not enough for me. Making sure that my Apple account info matched my iCloud account info was what fixed it for me.

I guess I jumped the gun here guys I am still getting the same message.

There is nothing wrong with my payment information, and the Apple

    account matches my iCloud.

This is an apparently uknown issue to Apple. I have been back and forth for 2 weeks about my Apple TV throwing off my entire account and continuously asking for "Verification". This is a horrible user experience. For me it all started when updating my Apple TV to the latest "crap-ware" 2 weeks ago .
