Why am I not able to text certain people from my iPad mini? I can text them from my phone. Most people I can text and answer from both my iphone and my iPad back and forth. Completely synced. All of a sudden I can no longer text one person from my iPad. Even when I text from my phone it does not show up on my iPad. “Unable to send”. Any help? Please.

Your iPad is not a cellular telephone. It has no capability to send or receive SMS text messages to/from a cellular carrier. It can only send and receive iMessages, to/from other Apple devices.
Should you happen to own an iPhone, you may use that in conjunction with your iPad to Handoff SMS messages.

Thank you for your help. I had always been able to send and receive texts on my iPad but a it was always following an existing thread. The one that failed to send was a new contact. Easy fix once you mentioned it. Thanks.
