Sorry, this is more of a connection question, but how to I change the drive letter of my iPod? (I'm going to change it to try to get the new USB drive to recognize it...apparently, that's supposed to work.) Upon right-clicking it on my computer and exploring it's properties, I can't find an option to do that. Do I just rename it as "The Chenopod (M:)" Instead of the Chenopod (F:)"? Normally I would jump in an try it...but yah...iPods...kinda expensive.
1-On "my computer" right click and
2-select "manage"
3-select "storage"
4-select "disk management"
5-Then right click on the iPod drive and
6-select 'change drive letter'.
Then you will be able to change it to what you want.

My problem is slightly different - I moved my itunes librart from the C drive to D drive and now there is an exclamation sign by more than half of the tracks in a totally random way, telling me that it can't find the files - any advise how to sort this - am pulling my hair out!!!!
I had the same problem and to fix it, go to control panel and click on the Administrative Tools then click the Computer Management icon, Then under the Disk Management you will see the iPod. There you click on the drive and right click it and you can change the drive letter.
You can either change the iTunes library back, or select each exclamation pointed file separately and have iTunes browse to find the file. Time consuming yes, but that will fix your problem.
Well, hey, you can delete all the songs in your iTunes library and then re add them all at once. BUT if when you clear your iTunes library and it asks if you want to keep the files or move them to the recycle bin, select keep. This shouldn't happen though if you have all your songs in the same folder.
