Apple Mail app unable to connect to server or verify third party accounts

Error messages include:

Connections to the server “imap.ionos.com” on the default ports timed out.

Mail (not responding)

Could not connect to this IMAP server

This has been happening for the past 2 weeks and it's disrupting my business and personal work. What is there to do to avoid it from recurring? Should I DELETE the Mail application and replace it with something else? Your reply is requested at your earliest opportunity.

Thank you

Hi there Fujimaru,

It sounds as though there are email accounts that are showing as inactive in the Mail app. Having access to your email is important, I'd be happy to assist in seeking a solution.

Below are resources that can help:

If a mail server rejects your login information on Mac

If Mail on your Mac can’t connect to your email account

Additionally, the resource below can provide additional information on if you're unable to send mail:

If you can’t send email on your Mac

I hope this helps,

Cheers!
