I have updated my iphone 11 pro to IOS13.5.1 and it continually crashes and certain apps open and then immediately close or the app just closes on it’s own randomly. When will there be a fix to this? Prior to the last upgrade it worked fine.

Those apps should be fine
First try a forced restart

If that does not work you may have to use a Mac or pc and iTunes (Finder in Catalina) to backup, then Restore as a new phone, before restoring from the backup i.e. forcing a fresh copy of iOS
Always try to accept updates using a Mac or PC in future
Might be worth a complete new re-install of the iOS, via itunes. I had a complete crash last week of my iphone 11pro which seems to be linked to the latest iOS update. Spoke with apple support who were very good and recommended a complete re-install. It has helped up but the phone occasionally crashes and then comes back on again, but at least it comes back on ad previously nothing came on.
If you undertake a re-install then ensure you have backed up.

The google app, apple news app, gmail, bbc, occasionally LinkedIn.
