I have a apple watch series 3. I was wanting to add cellular to the watch. I called my provider and was told I needed a imei number? or something like that. my watch does not have that number on the back or in my general settings. From what I know the series 3 has this capability. but was told without that number they cant provide that service. was curious if yo had any info for me to help get that set up?
You can buy a series 3 watch with or without the cellular option. If the watch does not have the cellular option initially, it cannot be added later.

You can buy a series 3 watch with the cellular option and choose not to activate the cellular feature until later. But I don't believe that is what you are asking.
