my appleid is the same for all of my apple devices. However changing my password on IphoneX will not transfer to my MacBook (catalina version) and vice versa. Once changing the password on either device it not only does not accept the new password, it no longer accepts the previous password, therefore i am in a continuous cycle of having to change passwords.

When you change the Apple ID password, you have to make the change on each device/computer. The change doesn't sync to the other devices/computers.

Try resetting the password on either the device or computer. If successful, sign in and then sign out. Use the link above as a guide of where to sign out. Then go to the other one and reset the password and sign in. Go back to the first one and sign in.
One would think it would work that way. I have attempted to put in the new password on the other device to only receive a response that I should not use a previous password. Well it’s technically a new password that I previously changed on the other device just minutes before. Any other suggestions?
