logic pro keyboard not working

I have an Alesis Q 49 keyboard which I use with Logic pro and Garageband (the keyboard works perfectly with Garageband but with Logic Pro I get some weird effects: Middle C does not work, (but if I shift the octave the key works but the new middle C does not). There are some other keys that will not play (but again work fine in garage band and when I change the octave). This clearly is a problem with Logic Pro. I have tried closing the program - restarting the computer but the problem persists. Does anyone have any suggestions as to what I can do to fix? As I say the Q49 works fine with Garageband so it is not the Keyboard.
