Credit card

I have a legit credit card that works and I can pay anything with, but when I want to establish my payment method in the settings, my card get's declined. It says I should update it or put in a new method, but it's the first time I'm adding any kind of payment method. I'm in family sharing too, does that have anything to do with it?
