ITunes

Simple question really. Does iTunes still exist, or has it been overtaken by Apple Music ? If so, how do I get to the music that I've paid for on iTunes ? I've not been onto it for a while and in trying to download I'm hitting so many issues and being pushed towards Apple Music.

If you use Windows (and you have posted in the iTunes for Windows section), then iTunes still exists. Look, here's mine....

The date and time in the bottom right corner is my local time (9th June 2020 at 19:11), so if it's ahead of you, that is why.

iTunes has only been replaced if you are using Mac OS Catalina, so even earlier Mac OS users still have it.

  • So, are you using iTunes on your computer to visit the iTunes Store, or your phone (or iPod)?
  • Have you signed in, to the same account that you made your purchases?
  • What issues are you experiencing? Once we know, then perhaps we can direct you to the right place

For example,

  1. if you're in the iTunes Store on your computer, have you signed into your account, using the me account ID that you purchased the music with?
  2. Have you dismissed Apple Music each time you're asked about it?
  3. Have you checked in your account for available downloads, or to see your purchase history?

  • On iTunes' top bar menu, click on Account/Check for Available Downloads.
  • If the step above shows nothing, try Account/View My Account. (You obviously have to sign in). On the Account Information page, look for the section headed Purchase History (it should be third of five headings). Under Purchase History click on the See All option. Once the Account Information page, you may have to choose options such as the time frame. Follow the various headings etc. to find what you are looking for.

By the way, I do not use Apple Music.

Thanks for the in depth reply. I went in on a different laptop as my one is out of action. I downloaded online . It wouldn't accept my info, eventually fixed that then it would only show me apple music. Then error message, saying try again later, then trying again it showed the usual information on the left column about albums, artists etc, but all greyed over and nothing in the main window. I'll give it another try tomorrow why my head's up to it again. Thanks again for your help.
