EarPods don't charge. They are wired headphones and do not have a battery to charge.
If you mean Airpods, then The Airpod Case should show a (green, amber, white) light on the front or back depending on model.
You can check the charge level of your Airpods on the paired iPhone in the Battery widget.
The Airpod Charging case will show a green light if the Airpods are fully charged or amber if they are not when the both Airpods are in the case. If the case is empty, the light will reflect the charge level of the case, green for 1 full charge or more, and amber for less than one full charge.
