Iphone stuck in a Boot Loop on start up

Hi all,

My phone reached capacity and the same night an automatic carrier update was attempted. The next morning my phone was acting buggy. I attempted to delete in order to create space but the phone was not cooperating. I then attempted to do a soft reset. Since then, the Iphone has been stuck in a boot loop. The apple logo is stuck on the screen on start up.

  • I have about 5 months of data not backed up that I'd like to recover.
  • The only suggestions from apple support is update or restore.
  • I've attempted an update to iOS 13.5 through a Mac and a windows PC. This was unsuccessful. Likely due to the storage being at capacity.

I understand that restoring is an option but I'd prefer to avoid that. I have data I would like to recover that is not backed up, so this is a last resort.

I see 3rd party software such as iOS repair tool - iMyFone Fixppo, 3utools or dr.fone. But I'm skeptical. Does anyone have any suggestions for fixing this issue or recovering my data?

Thank you.

Hey BootLoops,

Thanks for using Apple Support Communities! I understand your iPhone isn't powering on as expected, and you have some concerns about saving the content of your iPhone.

I definitely understand how important the information we keep on our devices is. Based on the information you've provided about your device, you wouldn't be able to complete a new backup. The best way to get your iPhone back up and working again would be to work through the restore process.

There are no third-party data recovery options supported by Apple, and I recommend using extreme caution when looking into any options that promise data recovery for a price. If you're using iCloud for things like your photos, contacts, and other data that information will still be available. Content already stored in iCloud is not included in backups.

I understand that restore was not the answer you were hoping for, but do want to provide the steps for you if you choose to proceed with that.

If you can't update or restore your iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch

Thanks again, and have a great day!
