Messages accidental delete

Somehow a conversation got deleted in Messages on my Mac. Now nothing from that person ever shows up. How can I add that conversation back in?

Thank you for posting in the Apple Support Communities. I understand you are missing messages sent from a specific contact. Are you able to view these messages on your iOS device? It sounds like the contact may have been blocked.


  1. In the Messages app on your Mac, choose Messages > Preferences, then click iMessage.
  2. Check the Blocked pane to see if the contact is listed.
