I Pod Nano 7th generation needs REPAIR

My Ipod fell sideways onto the floor and its play/pause/vol. control strip got hammered in. It's impossible to carry the Ipod because the slightest touch kills the vol. all the way down to zero.

I went through the trouble of sending it to Canada via a friend where the sales agent at the Apple store took one look at it & simply said "Oooo Vintage" providing no assistance whatsoever.

Unfortunately, the circular aux port got slightly distorted to an ovalish shape too when I had to slam my brakes to save a passing dog while the Ipod was plugged into the car stereo via cable.

Is there any hope??
