Im new to apple; my phone was activated yesterday via apple support, but all my apps on my samsung have not transferred. I am ready to move them but don't know how.

You can not transfer or move the apps. Android apps will not run on iOS and vice versa.
You will need to purchase / download the relevant apps from the App Store on the iPhone.
Thanks for the response Tim. The 20-something Verizon associate told me that everything would transfer if I downloaded the Android-to-IOS app which I did. Didn't work.
