PSD file offloaded while open in Photoshop

Hi everyone!

I have had this frustrating situation occur a couple times where I am in the middle of working on a PSD that is in an iCloud-enabled folder (and I have "Store in iCloud" turned on, so that it will optimize space for me) and if I have it open for a long time, sometimes my computer will decide to offload it to the cloud. So when I "Save" the file in Photoshop, there's no file to save it to (but it doesn't give any errors or anything) and next time I open the file, it re-downloads from the cloud and none of my changes are saved.

Shouldn't this feature be smart enough to know that the file is currently open in an application and therefore not offload it?? It seems also very strange that a file I opened THAT DAY would get offloaded so quickly.

Is there any workaround for this? Obviously I could just never save PSDs in an icloud-enabled folder, but that would mean no more space on my SSD, so that's not really an option.

Thanks so much for any help!

You may be right, but that seems to be an Adobe feature, not iCloud.

iCloud is the storage, but the communication back and forth would be managed by Photoshop.

Have you consulted Adobe?
