I had old MacBook Pro running 10.6.8 with iPhoto. I had to export the individual images as jpegs to put on USB drive to import to new iMac. The original date stamp is on the images. Is there someway for me to have Photos resort them by original da

Can I sort images on Photo by imbedded date taken instead of date imported?

There should be no need to export/import. If you still have the iPhoto Library from the old Mac you can open that with Photos app on your new one. You could copy the whole library file across tp the new Mac, or connect the two computers so the new one can see the old one. Photos app will migrate the old Library to the new format, making everything you had before available in Photos, includng all the original metadata. The old iPhoto Library will be left intact.
