iMac & MacBook Pro - Use together?

Hi there,

I'm looking to purchase a new iMac to upgrade my home computer but I'm also interested in a solution that allows me to use my bigger screen with the iMac to use my work laptop which is a 15-inch MacBook Pro (2018). Anyone know of a solution? I desperately need a bigger screen as I'm working from home more and don't really want to buy a new laptop and a new monitor along with a docking station.

Thanks!

Alyssa

Sorry Allyssa but that will not work and sorry there are no work arounds. Target Display Mode was discontinued by Apple in 2015. The only iMacs that could connect were 27” 2009 - 2014.

if your MBP needs an external display you need to buy one.
