How to Refresh AirPlay devices MacOS Catalina 10.15.5?

I installed a new wi-fi router which also meant I had to reset up my HomePods 46 times before they would work. (Yes, I exaggerated. But it was ridiculously difficult and had to be done and redone many times to stick.)

My up-to-date iMac Music application still sees speakers that no longer exist. I've removed all the .pref network related files, and I've tried all of the suggestions I could find here dating back to 2013.

Why won't it look to today and let go of the past? How do I get rid of airplay speakers that no longer exist? (and, dear apple developers also, this shouldn't be a such a problem.)

Hello tomasczt,

Thank you for reaching out in Apple Support Communities. I understand you'd like to remove speakers, that no longer exist with the use of AirPlay. I'll be happy to help.

If you haven't tried yet, I recommend to open the Home app on your Mac and see if you can remove those speakers. Here's a helpful article with the proper steps: Add and manage TVs and speakers in the Home app

Now if that doesn't help, please let us know what additional steps were performed. That way we can provide you the best support and avoid repeating any steps.

Kind regards.
