Hello! I recently damaged my screen, more specifically the LCD of my phone. I got a new phone and want to transfer using my apple id, however my damaged phone is not completely backed-up even though I have plenty of space on my icloud account. Can I set up my new phone using my latest backup without losing the photos on my damaged phone? Thank you.

Even though the device might be damaged, have you tried connecting it to a computer to backup to iTunes?
Do you remember plugging in the older device while it was connected to WiFi? If so, then it would've automatically backed up providing you had enough space for a backup. When setting up the new device, see if it presents you with a backup which is recognizable to you.
If your photos were in iCloud Photos and you had enough iCloud storage, then you won't lose anything when setting up the new phone.
There is no automatic backup as the device is automatically backed up when plugged in and connected to WiFi. It may not have backed up because you may not have had sufficient space to do so.
I definitely had my old phone plugged in while is was connecting to wifi, but now I have to assume I did not have automatic backup turned on because it did not backup. When I go to set up my old phone there is only a backup available from two years ago. Is there a way to remotely back up my iPhone to the cloud from my computer? Thanks!
Sorry I also have another question that you may be able to answer. What if I took the SIM card out of my old phone and put it in my new phone? Would the photos transfer over and could I back them up using that phone?
I see. So now that I do have enough space is there anyway to ensure that it backs-up?
