iphone 8

Hi I am trying to reset an iphone 8 back to factory setting. Do i need to insert a current sim card ?

If this is the case will any information on the sim be lost if i was to install it in another phone ?

You do not need to install a SIM card in it however ensure that you have a WiFi network connection available if it needs to be connected to it. To answer your SIM question, there is no information on a SIM card except your cellular account identifying information. No data to lose on a SIM card.

the only information on your sim is your phone number, when smart phones arrived storing contacts, sms and the likes on the sim cards stopped, and it's only purpose was to pair your phone number/ carrier contract with the IMEI of your phone
