I’ve an iPad Air and unable to update the latest software version . It just shows “update requested” kindly help

Which year and model iPad Air do you own?
A 2013, 1st generation iPad Air cannot upgrade/update beyond iOS 12.4.7, currently.
These older iPad models are too old, now, too underpowered and completely incompatible with any of the current and future versions of iPadOS.
