Missing map data on activity

I have found that every so often my phone/watch will not track my GPS data when I go on a bike ride. This ride I did 62.62 miles and had my phone in my pocket and my Apple Watch series 4 on my wrist. I finish the ride and go into my workouts and no map route just a green pin. I restarted my phone and re-paired my watch and nothing still no map data. This has only happened once before about 3 weeks ago. I usually ride everyday and I normally don’t have this issue. I chalked the first issue up as a glitch but twice tells me something isn’t right and I know it isn’t my settings. Anyone have this happen before and know the trick?

To see the map, you must turn on route tracking. On your iPhone, go to Settings > Privacy > Location Services, turn location services on then tap Apple Watch Workout, then tap While Using the App.

Then tap on maps then tap While using the app.

Then tap on System Services and turn on motion calibration and distance.

Another place to check is on the watch in settings/privacy/Location Services and make sure this is turned on and scroll down to apple watch workout and select while using the app.
