My ipod 5.1 is disabled, and I forgot the 4 digit ID, I have a PC and I just launched my new iphone . How do I get a new four digit passcode for my ipod sent to my email account

I have an ipod 5.1. The four digit passcode is not something I remember. I just purchased an iphone . I have not purchased iTUNES account. Is it possible to have Apple send me an email to my registered Apple ID /email with a reset password for my ipod 5.1 or do I have to have an iTUNES account?
