Touch issues

I’ve recently noticed the left side of my iphone xs has been giving some touch issues whereas I can’t touch the letter on the left side of “w” which you probably can understand why I didn’t specifically put the letter by now lol, as well as other functions I cannot get through to. I read on here that some people got their cables reseated and everything was working the same again, i wonder if this would work for me or must i get a new screen.. could someone suggest what i could do before having to actually buy a new screen?
