Is iTunes still free? Or do I need to subscribe to apple music

Yes it does. As always you can buy music etc through iTunes and there is a charge for that.
If you have an iPod touch that includes the iTunes Store app from which you can make purchases. There is a Music app which can be used to listen to music transferred from iTunes on your computer. You can rip music from your existing CDs into iTunes if you don't want to use either the Apple Music subscription service or buy new music in the iTunes Store.

Ok. Can I still get on iPod free too? Yes, I still have an iPod. Hahaha
