Anyone else break an iPhone X with AppleCare?

I broke my IPhone X with AppleCare, no problem right I’ll pay the deductible and get it fixed? WRONG!!!!!!

Option (1) Pay deductible and receive new phone in the mail. APPLE will place a $1000 hold on your debit card from the moment you receive your new phone until APPLE gets around to opening the package of the broken phone you sent back!!!!!

Option (2) Pay deductible and send your broken phone to APPLE for who knows how long until they fix it and send it back to you, oh and you have no phone in the meantime.

Option (3) Wait two weeks, go to APPLE store and repeat Option (2)

iPhone X, iOS 13

I have no idea what your technical issue is? Yes, Apple places a hold on your account until the returned device is received - it is a hold, not a charge. The hold is released once the damaged device is received.

And you will always pay the deductible fee when making an accidental damage claim under AppleCare+. That always applies.

If you wait and go to an Apple store you’ll not see the HOLD (again, not a charge, just a hold) on your account, but you’re still going to pay the AppleCare+ fee.
