Reappearing Music folder within Media folder

Hi i wonder if anyone can help. I have recently moved from a Windows laptop to a Macbook Air and i'm having an issue with the Music folder. I moved the Music folder from Windows to the Music/Media folder on the Mac which imported in the Music app fine.


The issue i'm having now is when i add new music to the Mac it gets put into a new folder inside the Media folder even though the settings for the media folder are as in the picture bellow.


Any ideas appreciated.

Back in iTunes 8 artist folders were placed in the primary media folder. iTunes 9 introduced an option Rearrange files in the folder iTunes Media which moved artist folders into a Music subfolder to match the behaviour for other media types, each getting its own subfolder. This is less obviously useful in the new Music app but Apple haven't provided a way to deselect this preference if enabled or inherited from a previous library.


Look for a hidden file in your media folder called .Media Preferences.plist and open with a text editor. Change the value of <Integer> from 1 to 0, save the file, then open Music. Turn Keep organized off and apple, then turn on again to make the media folder reflect the updated layout option.
