Cannot turn off 2 factor verification

I just created a new apple ID specifically for game center. It never asked me for 2 factor verification. But after the account was setup it says that it is on. I cannot turn it off. On the iphone it is not turned on. How can i turn it off?

If you enabled 2FA within the last 14 days, you can turn it off using the link in the enrollment confirmation email. If it has been longer than 14 days, you cannot turn if off.

2FA is not turned on or off based on a device. It is a function of your iCloud account. If you have 2FA enabled, it will be enabled for any device signed into that Apple ID.

You can try contacting Apple ID Support to see if they can help turn it off. Based on some posts I have read, they may not be willing to help. See the Apple Support articles below for contact information.

I didn't enable it apple did. The only email received upon creating this new account was a verification email with a code. Nothing else was sent. There was no enrollment confirmation email.

Apple can't turn it own. It's quite possible that you clicked "Ok" to something without completely reading it. We've all certainly done that. Also, 2FA codes aren't sent by email.
