Boot Camp, details and boot options

Hello friends,

I'm working with a 16" MBP (2019) hosting a dual-boot of Catalina (latest)/Win 10 Pro x64 (latest) via Boot Camp.

When making an OS selection my choices appear like this (see screen grab) "boot choices".

boot choices

However, the Apple website »support.apple.com/en-us/HT208123

gives the strong impression that a properly installed Win 10/Boot Camp will appear this way "textbook setup"

textbook setup

My sincere QUESTION is

What have I done wrong to get a different result than when the manufacturer of Boot Camp does it?

That is, why/how is my setup different, please?

Yes, I followed the Apple process verbatim

»support.apple.com/guide/ ··· 3bf2/mac

Concerning Differences:

1. Order is reversed (Win/Mac vs. Mac/Bootcamp),

2. Icon for Win/Bootcamp is different, and

3. Windows choice is named differently ("Windows" vs. "Boot Camp")

--> Your kind details & feedback is appreciated, especially from current, actual Boot Camp users. Thanks!

Kind regards, Joe

The list in Apple Boot Manager is built using the scan of the EFI partition for bootable systems.

Can you post the output of

systemsetup -liststartupdisks

Also, you have the 'Choose Network', which implies you are in Recovery (Local or Internet). Your other listing is most likely using Alt/Option during boot.

output = /System/Library/CoreServices

Yes, wrt the network selection, if I DO make a network connection this way, then it sometimes (not always) will boot into recovery, which seems unexpected, unless one were to press Command-R. Which I do NOT.
