Mail Rules: deletes emails from server

How do you prevent Mail rules fromsending a delete message to the email server.

i have it setup to move emails into a folder based on it's receipient.

'copy' leaves a copy in the inbox, which i would prefer not to do

'move' does move it as expected, but it sends a 'delete email' message to the email server.

i want to keep all email on the server as a backup.

we are using IMAP

thanks

Try taking a look in your accounts settings. Mail Preferences > Accounts > Mailbox Behaviors --where it says Erase Deleted Messages. I have mine set to Never.

Not sure if that fixes your problem, but just an idea.
