More important that anything you've mentioned is to make sure that the iPod is working and that you can get into it without a password and that there is no activation lock on it.

It's in a genuine seller's interest to remove their own accounts from the iPod and any Activation Lock or passwords. For some strange reason, we see countless posts here from people who buy used iPods but cannot get into them due to Activation Lock (a theft deterrent feature), a password to an account that is not their own etc. etc. and who then (for an even stranger reason) are unable to contact the seller again.

We've even seen posts here from people who have bought a used iPod from a friend (or even their best friend), who then moves to another state or country leaving the purchaser unable to contact them. Well - that's the story we hear.

Whether you should buy the one you've seen is not for us to say. All I'm mentioning is the accounts we hear about from buyers.

  • Box - what does it matter if it's missing?
  • Accessories - the only one you would want is the connecting cable (USB cable) for power and Syncing to iTunes on a computer. More recent iPods do not come with a charger, only the USB cable. I wouldn't want the original headphones if the seller had been using them
  • Bill - I'm not sure what use it would be to you as I don't think it would be enough on its own to get Apple to help you with a locked iPod
  • Warranty - warranty time varies around the world and only covers manufacturing defects. How much use would it be on a second-hand device?
  • Technical Support - I'm not sure how any of the above items would help with that. There is a lot of user support here and frankly, that's more likely to be what you need.
