If you’re running into this error when preparing your iPad, try updating the iOS to a more recent version:

Update your iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch 

Restart Apple Configurator and your iPad after this and try setting them up once more:

Restart your iPad 

Prepare iOS and iPadOS devices automatically in Apple Configurator 2 on Mac
