Apple card reader will not recognize videos

I plugged the brand new card reader into my brand new iPad 7th generation, 10.2" but it fails to recognize videos saved on the scandisk Extreme SD HC camera card. All photos are recognized and downloaded very quickly. I checked all settings and file formats to no avail.

I then did a little experiment whereby I inserted an older different type of camera card (Kingston SD) and it recognized the videos. If there is a known issue with different types of cards it would be appreciated if it could be posted in the specs.
